In grad QM, C-T was our primary text and L2 supplementary. I found L2 very heavy going. Did you use it in the original Russian? Does it make more sense in Russian? Or were my classmates correct and I am just a whimp?badmomgoodmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11569728075698885020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15350975.post-12453906769285846732015-09-15T04:31:49.303-07:002015-09-15T04:31:49.303-07:00Oh, no, I would not dare use Landau here! My profs recommended it as supplementary reading. I liked having Liboff as my primary text w/ Landau and Lifshitz and Cohen-Tannoudji as supplemental texts. We were required to purchase Liboff. The others were kept (multiple copies) at the reference desk at the library for student use.badmomgoodmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11569728075698885020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15350975.post-67560119088456127872015-09-14T12:38:55.751-07:002015-09-14T12:38:55.751-07:00Have you seen Richard L Liboff's "Introdu...Have you seen Richard L Liboff's "Introductory Quantum Mechanics"? Also, Tipler's "Modern Physics". I took QM from the physics dept at Cal w/ Liboff and another class through the chemistry dept which used Tipler.

Then I took group theory with a math professor who was a pioneer in quantum-classical correspondence theory. That was an intense and very fun time.badmomgoodmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11569728075698885020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15350975.post-7494278074920412012015-09-14T12:34:15.836-07:002015-09-14T12:34:15.836-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.badmomgoodmomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11569728075698885020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15350975.post-63823315544346333322015-09-14T11:34:53.716-07:002015-09-14T11:34:53.716-07:00Do you remember what textbook you've used for ...Do you remember what textbook you've used for Quantum? I am on a constant lookout for a good one for my classes and for research students (my education was Landau all the way, but this name just scares any physics student here!) :)HoleyFiberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04708035057361881698noreply@blogger.com
