The wash was full of blooming Wallace's Eriophyllum and chicory.

Palm Canyon (3 mi RT, 400' climb) is the most popular hike at Anza Borrego Desert State Park. We picnicked at the camp ground before our hike, which may not have been a good idea. It's an average bloom year, and the flowers are near peak. We had a great time!
On the drive from San Diego to ABDSP, we saw blindingly brilliant patches of golden poppies and DYC (damn yellow composites) along I-8.
